After a while, Apple took that idea and made *Spotlight*, but Spotlight worked differently.** Then I found [Alfred](https://www.alfredapp.com/) – it did the same thing as Quicksilver but also so much more. Alfred is great, but my new sidekick is [Raycast](https://www.raycast.com). Speed is the most significant difference, or at least perceived speed. I don’t have any numbers to go by. Raycast makes routine tasks quicker. A tool like this is a must for someone who gets a minor panic attack when watching people move their windows around with the mouse and then drag them into misaligned windows on top of each other.
